Step 1

The Prairie of Living Together in Peace

This course proposes to work specifically on one of the strategies of the House of Peace School Guide: the game or activity of “awakening to otherness/diversity”.

Through several videos, you will discover what the activities of awakening to otherness are.

An animated film relating a university research project carried out by a school teacher in a pre-school class will be presented to you as well as a video allowing you to better understand this research.

You will then be able to access a pedagogical sheet allowing you to set up the Prairie of Living Together in Peace in the classroom.

A test will then be proposed on the animated film presenting the Prairie of Living Together in Peace.

You will be asked two questions that will allow you to list the essential attributes of a game or an activity to foster awakening to otherness. You will be able to answer them in a forum.

You will then have access to a short video with answers proposed by people who attended the first training seminar on the culture of peace.

Finally, for those who would like to explore further, a presentation sheet of the "warm fuzzies” referred to in the Prairie of Living Together in Peace will be proposed.

Step 2

The mandala of a plate of rice

In this step 2 we will work a little more profound on the games and activities of awakening to otherness thanks to a film made in Indonesia, "The mandala of a plate of rice".

A presentation will be made by the director Elisabeth Inandiak, then you will be able to watch this film.

It will be followed by a comparison with the theoretical contributions of Jérôme Bruner presented during the first course on the CAVQ.

A test is then proposed to you.

You will then have access to an appendix sheet that allows you to better understand how the children's questioning took place during the activity.

A project sheet on "The Mandala of a Plate of Rice" is presented.

A second sequence sheet, "The Plate of Food," is also offered to allow those who could not complete the entire "Rice Plate Mandala" activity to still achieve some of the basic objectives developed in the project sheet.

Then you will be asked two questions that you can answer in a forum.

EN 2-3 - The secret of the letter "BA"
EN 2 - Awakening to otherness

Step 3

The secret of the letter BA

In this last step we will continue the work on games and activities to awaken otherness, focusing even more on the passage from “I” to “we”.

A first video will present “How the letter Alif became the letter BA”.

Then it will be followed by an animation on "The secret of the letter BA".

A short video presentation of the sequence sheet consisting of 5 sessions on the letter BA will then be offered to you.

You will then have access to the corresponding educational document.

You will then be asked two questions which you can answer in a forum.

You will also have access to another activity sheet "We are all letters of the same alphabet" and you will be able to see some productions produced, during the implementation of this activity, by people who attended the first training seminar in the culture of peace.
